AHA Annual Meeting

On the Cover

The cover shows detail from Symbol of Poland Reborn, stained glass designed by Mieczyslaw Jurgielewicz, and made by Krakowski Zaklad Witrazów S.G. Zelenski. From the collection of The Polish Museum of America. Photograph by Julita Siegel, digital image courtesy of the museum. Designed in 1939 for the Polish Pavilion at the New York World's Fair, the stained glass could not be returned to Poland as the Second World War had broken out. Along with other artifacts from the pavilion, the stained glass became the core of the museum's collections. Read the related article by Margaret (Peg) Strobel.
