Grant of the Week: International Research and Studies (IRS) Grant Competition
Every week, Perspectives Daily showcases a new grant, fellowship, or scholarship that has been posted to our free community calendar. This week we are featuring the International Research and Studies (IRS) Grant Competition.
This program supports research, surveys, studies, and the development of instructional materials to improve and strengthen instruction in modern foreign languages, area studies, and other international fields. Public and private agencies, organizations and institutions, and individuals may apply.
Grant funds can support salaries, fringe benefits, travel related to the project, equipment, supplies, consultant costs, evaluation costs, production of the materials, etc. Funds awarded for IRS projects may not be used for the training of students and teachers.
The appropriation amount for FY 2023 is $1,619,540 with a number of new awards to be determined. For the FY 2020 IRS competition cycle, the average annual grant amount was approximately $54,000. The maximum annual award was $77,000.
End: May 12, 2023
