Grant of the Week: Mary Jurich Nickliss Award

The Organization for American Historians invites submissions for the Mary Jurich Nickliss Award.

This annual prize is award to a book in U.S. women’s history that challenges and/or changes widely accepted interpretations in the field and/or makes the most significant contribution to the understanding of U.S. women’s and/or gender history. Named for Mary Jurich Nickliss, the child of Serbian immigrants, and endowed by her daughter, Alexandra Nickliss, the prize acknowledges the generations of women who opportunities were constrained by the historical circumstances in which they lived.

Entry must be published between January 1, 2014 and December 31, 2014. The award will be presented at the 2015 OAH Annual Meeting in St. Louis, Missouri, April 16-19. Submission Deadline: November 1, 2014.
