The restaurants compiled here have stood the test of time and reflect the values of the city of Chicago. We have included moderately priced restaurants as well as a few splurges for those who enjoy high-end dining. This list was compiled based on the recommendations of local residents to provide an interesting slice of Chicago dining.

Topolobampo/Frontera Grill/XOCO (Mexican fusion). Unfortunately, three famous Chicago restaurants created by Rick Bayless are closed January 1 through 9 for an annual vacation.
