It is the last day of the AHA’s 126th annual meeting, but there are plenty of sessions and events going on today. Read on to see the few we’ve highlighted below.

Sessions
Below are just a few of the sessions taking place at the 126th annual meeting today.

• Popular Protest in Global Perspective
  8:30–10:30 a.m.
  Sheraton, Michigan Room B
  Inspired by the dramatic recent events in Egypt, this panel will discuss comparative cases of popular uprisings in Tunisia, South Africa, Eastern Europe, and protest movements in the U.S.
• James M. McPherson: A Life in American History
  8:30–10:30 a.m.
  Sheraton, Sheraton Ballroom V
  Few historians have written about the American past with more profound insight and impact than James M. McPherson. This panel will evaluate McPherson’s lifetime of scholarship and contributions to the historical profession.
• Ending Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell: Lessons Learned from Integrating Minorities and Women in the U.S. Military
  8:30–10:30 a.m.
  Marriott, Iowa Room
  Panelists will discuss the U.S. military’s race relation initiatives of the 1970s, the challenges of integrating women into the U.S. military, the Army Nurse Corps in the 1950s, and the overall movement to end “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”
• Whither the Future of the History Textbook
  11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
  Sheraton, Chicago Ballroom VI
  Representatives from publishers as well as textbook authors join together on this panel to discuss how well textbooks teach history, and whether textbooks have a future in the digital age.
