Today at the Annual Meeting, check out the NHEC workshop, the film festival, and a number of open forums. And for some less formal interaction check out the luncheons and receptions going on today. Locations and Times

• Registration desks are located on the Hilton’s second floor promenade and are open today from 8:00 am–6:00 pm.
• The Job Center is located in the Hilton’s Rhinelander Gallery and is open today from 9:00 am–6:00 pm. (Admission to the Job Center requires an AHA registration badge. Applicants should be sure to check the Registration Resource Center for messages concerning interviews.
• The Exhibit Hall is open today from 9:00 am–6:00 pm. (Admission to the Exhibit Hall requires an AHA registration badge)

National History Education Clearinghouse Workshop
The National History Education Clearinghouse Workshop is sponsored by the AHA Teaching Division, and participants were required to register in advance. It takes place from 8:30 am to 5 pm today in Concourse A of the Hilton New York. At the day-long conference speakers give talks with the following titles:

• From Colonial Beginnings to Early Republic
• Teaching with Textbooks
• FDR and ER: Using Documents to Tell Their Story
• Many Movements: Teaching Black Freedom Struggles from WWII to the 1960s

Also, during the midday luncheon Sam S. Wineburg will give the address: “Inverting Bloom’s Taxonomy: What’s Basic When Reading History?” Learn more about the National History Education Clearinghouse online.

Luncheons
A number of luncheons take place today (with sponsors like the College Board, CLAH, and OHT). See them all here in the online Program.

Film Festival
Today, see two films in this year’s Film Festival: Revolution 67’ (the most recent winner of the John O’Connor Film Award) at 12 pm and Agent Orange: A Personal Requiem, showing at 4:30 pm. Both films are being show in the Hilton’s Bryant Suite.

Open Forums

• AHR Open Forum
  1:00–2:00 pm, Nassau Suite B (Hilton New York)
  Meet the staff of the American Historical Review, let them know what you want from the journal, and learn more about submitting articles for publication.
• Open Forum on Disability
  4:45–6:00 pm, Hudson Suite (Hilton New York)
  Historians with disabilities, department chairs, directors of graduate studies, members of search committees, graduate students, and anyone interested in fair and open access to the profession are invited to discuss professional issues relating to disability.
• Graduate and Early Career Committee Open Forum
  5:30–6:30 pm, Concourse G (Hilton New York)
  Participate in a discussion of interest to graduate students and early-career professionals.

Receptions
The AHA hosts two receptions today: the Reception for Two-Year Faculty, from 5:30–7:00 pm in the Murray Hill Suite (Hilton New York), and the Reception for Graduate Students from 6:30–8:00 pm in Concourse A (Hilton New York).

General Meeting
The General Meeting will take place tonight in the East Ballroom of the Hilton New York at 8:30 pm. AHA president Gabrielle Spiegel will deliver her presidential address, “The Task of the Historian,” which will be followed by the presentation of awards to recipients of AHA prizes.
