Housing: The 1995 annual meeting will be held at the Chicago Hilton and Palmer House Hilton hotels. Members may make reservations by telephoning hotels: Chicago Hilton (312/922-4400) and Palmer House Hilton (312/726-7500). Prior to calling the reservation department, please have the following information available: arrival/departure dates, number of rooms required, type of room (single, double, etc.), number of people in party, credit card number and expiration date, and names, addresses, and phone numbers of occupants of room. You should also note accessibility requirements (movement-impaired, TDD needs, etc.) and, if you prefer, a nonsmoking room. Rooms are subject to 14.9 percent in city and state sales taxes. Housing forms are also available by writing the Convention Director, AHA, 400 A Street, SE, Washington, DC 20003.

Although the cutoff date for the Association's housing block is December 5, both hotels will continue to take reservations on a space- available basis at AHA meeting rates. If necessary, additional hotels in the immediate vicinity of the headquarters hotel will be added to the housing block.

Changes in Program

Following publication of the Program in early October, the AHA headquarters has been informed of the following changes:

Session 73, Alternative Modes of Historiographical Thought in Late 19th-Century Europe. In addition to commenting, Roger Chickering (Georgetown Univ.) will also chair the session. Eckhardt Fuchs (Univ. of Virginia), George G. Iggers (SUNY at Buffalo), and Kathryn Brush (Univ. of Western Ontario) will present papers.

Session 133, Explaining Auschwitz and Hiroshima: History Writing and the Second World War, 1945–1995. Claudio Pavone (Univ. of Pisa) will be unable to attend the meeting. Richard Bosworth (Univ. of Western Australia), Keith Robbins (Saint David's Univ. Coll., Univ. of Wales), and Glenda Sluga (Univ. of Sydney) will present papers. Jonathan Steinberg (Trinity Hall, Cambridge Univ.) will chair.

Session 142, Visions of Reform in Late Imperial Russia. Richard Robbins, Jr. (Univ. of New Mexico), will join panel members Mary Schaeffer Conroy (Univ. of Colorado at Denver), William Gleason (Doane Coll.), Thomas Porter (Univ. of Wisconsin at Oshkosh), and Charles Timberlake (Univ. of Missouri at Columbia). The session will be chaired by Thomas Pearson (Monmouth Coll.).

Also of special interest, the program committee has asked commentators in all sessions to address the implications of the papers being given not only for research but also for teaching. Those who attend the annual meeting should expect this at sessions, and it would be appropriate, therefore, for members of the audience to raise questions with this in mind during the question-and-answer period.
