National History Day Moves to Maryland

The trustees of National History Day, a program that encourages young people to explore historical subjects related to an annual contest theme, announce the the relocation of the national office to the campus of the University of Maryland, College Park, and the appointment of Gordon McKinney as executive director. Dr. McKinney, who assumed his office on September 1, 1992, previously taught at Western Carolina University and was a program officer for the National Endowment for the Humanities. Cathy Gorn continues as the associate executive director.
