George Mason’s Center for History and New Media is offering a number of $1,000 grants, through its ECHO project, to support online digital history collections on the recent history of science, technology, and industry. To apply, submit a grant proposal of no more than 500 words and a c.v. to chnm@gmu.edu with the subject line, “ECHO grant proposal,” by July 1, 2007.

The ECHO project will also be holding its annual conference this summer, June 12-15, on George Mason University’s Fairfax campus, with the theme of “Doing Digital History: An Introduction for Historians of Science, Technology, and Industry.” While the workshop is free (and in fact some travel fellowships are available for graduate students and young scholars), space is limited and therefore the CHNM asks interested participants to submit an application by June 8th to attend the workshop.
