The World History Association announces that its activities were recently expanded by the establishment of new regional affiliates in California, Georgia, Ohio, Texas, and the Rocky Mountain area.

Through its Rocky Mountain regional affiliate, the World History Association earlier this year presented a highly successful conference at the U.S. Air Force Academy on the topic “Our Changing World in Historical Perspective.”

The World History Association, founded in 1982 to advance teaching and research in history, publishes the World History Journal and the Bulletin. Its membership nationwide currently exceeds 1,000. The Journal recently was awarded First Place in the 1990 Council of Editors of Learned Journals competition in the category of Best New Journal. Judges in the competition singled out the World History Journal for its timeliness and broad, “thoughtful analysis”.

In commemoration of the 1492 quincentennial, the World History Association will sponsor a conference, “1492 in Global Perspective,” at Drexel University on June 25-29, 1992.

Additional information on the and its activities may be obtained by writing to Professor Richard Rosen, Executive Director, World History Association, Department of History and Politics, Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
