EdsitementEnjoy finding out what happened today in history? Well then you’ll love EDSITEment’s online calendar, which covers not only what happened today in history, but also what happened this month in history. Teachers will find the calendar especially useful, because every day’s history event is accompanied by a link to an associated lesson plan (marked with an “LP” on the calendar) or web site (marked with a “W”).

For instance, today January 29th is both the day of Thomas Paine’s birth in 1737 and Robert Frost’s death in 1963. So the EDSITEment calendar links to two different lesson plans: “Background on the Patriot Attitude Toward the Monarchy” (for Paine) and “Poems That Tell a Story: Narrative and Persona in the Poetry of Robert Frost.”

EDSITEment has even kept a calendar archives extending back to February of 2001. Different events are listed in calendars across the years, allowing the site to cover a number of different happenings and the variety of resources that go with them.

Know who was born tomorrow (January 30) in 1882? Consult the calendar and find out that and much more.
