James M. Hobbins, who was executive assistant to the secretary of the Smithsonian, resigned last week after allegations surfaced that he’d destroyed minutes from a Smithsonian Board of Regents meeting that took place in January. - NEH Announces $26 Million in New Grants
The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) announced their funding and support of over 159 projects. - Archives Requests Feedback on Presidential Library Museums
The National Archives and Records Administration is looking for feedback from the public on a possible survey that would collection information on visitor experiences at Presidential libraries. - Advisory Council on Historic Preservation Meeting
This Friday, August 17th, the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation will hold a public meeting to discuss, among other things, the National Park Service’s (NPS) Centennial Challenge, and Battlefield Landscape Restoration Initiative.
