History Doctoral Programs in Canada
The AHA’s database of History Doctoral Programs now lists programs in Canada. Did you know that Ontario has 15 schools that grant PhDs? Visit the Canada map to search by province and find universities from Alberta to Saskatchewan and everything in between. If you’re not ready to study with our neighbors up North, then make sure to stop by the United States Map, and find programs throughout the country.

The History Doctoral Programs site also includes helpful information for students going through the Graduate School Application Process. This information was compiled and formatted by Elise S. Lipkowitz, chair of the AHA’s Committee for Graduate Students, and she takes students step by step through finding schools, researching them, and eventually making a decision on where to go.
