Free wireless hotspots in DCThose attending the AHA’s 122nd Annual Meeting in Washington D.C. this coming January 3-6, 2008, may want to check out a number of maps that are now available on the AHA web site. The maps include locations of annual meeting hotels and free wireless hotspots around D.C. Each map acts like a Google map, allowing users to zoom in or out on locations; switch from map (just street names), satellite (just satellite image), or hybrid (street names overlaid on a satellite image) views; and click on marked points to find out more information.

A third map created for the meeting by the Local Arrangements Committee locates an extensive list of restaurants. The map includes D.C. favorites like Teaism, Lauriol Plaza, and Ben’s Chili Bowl, but also tags the multiple Starbucks coffeeshops and the nearest Chipotle. This map is available through Google rather than on the AHA web site.

These maps may be added to and improved upon in the coming months before the annual meeting, so be sure to check back in the future.
