For those looking to get an early start on the job search for the 2014–15 academic year, many ads that will appear in the fall issues of Perspectives on History are now being posted online. Log in every Friday to see new ads for tenure-track positions, fellowships, public history jobs, and more. Both AHA members and nonmembers can access the ads; if you don’t have an account with us, you can create one for free.

You may also want to mark your calendar for January 4, 1–5 p.m. The AHA will hold its first Career Fair during the annual meeting in Washington, DC, which will bring job candidates and students together with mentors from all aspects of the history profession. There will be tables where informal discussions can take place, and where information can be shared with current or future job candidates about what career opportunities exist for historians. The fair is open to all meeting attendees with a badge. Stay tuned to the Job Center web page for more details about the fair as it gets closer. If you are interested in attending as a mentor, please e-mail Liz Townsend.
