The most recent edition of the NCH Washington Update, the National Coalition for History’s weekly newsletter, lists content of particular interest to history educators. These resources can be found in the “Bits and Bytes” section and includes the following:
- NARA Summer Institutes – The National Archives will offer a class this summer entitled “Primarily Teaching: Original Documents and Classroom Strategies.” The class is designed for history teachers who are interested in creating lesson plans using archival documents.
- NMAH “Object of History” website – The National Museum of American History (NMAH) has created the Object of History website, which will feature “a physical artifact that relates to a central topic in American history. Lesson plans, additional web resources, and other curriculum materials will accompany each object.”
For more on these topics, and the rest of the content in this newsletter, visit the November 30th issue of the NCH Washington Update.
