AHA Activities

Pillarisetti Sudhir joined the AHA staff as an assistant editor in May. He edits the employment information and listings sections of Perspectives and the Association’s guide to grants, fellowships, and prizes of interest to historians. Sudhir received his Ph.D. in history from the University of London and taught in universities in India before moving to the United States three years ago. He brings with him a keen interest in history, editing, and computers. Excited by the potential of new technologies of communication, Sudhir is looking forward to involvement in the various electronic publication projects of the AHA.

Ermelinda Carvajal is a convention and administrative assistant to the executive office. She provides support for AHA annual meetings and the Professional Division. Ermelinda obtained previous experience in organizing meetings while working with the Model United Nations Program at Old Dominion University. She recently finished a year of teaching Spanish in a Virginia high school. Errnelinda earned an M.A. in humanities and a B.A. in Spanish from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.

Cedra Eaton is an administrative assistant to the executive office. She provides support for various AHA divisions and standing committees and administers the Association’s grants, fellowships, and prizes programs. Cedra is working on a master’s degree in International Development at American University, in Washington, D.C. Before joining the staff of the AHA, she worked with a variety of educational institutions and nonprofit organizations. She earned her B.A. in political science, with a minor in Spanish, at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
