AHA Activities

In the April issue (p. 3), the Association announced the ballot for the annual election to fill vacancies in its governing structure. Unfortunately, circumstances have necessitated a change in the candidacies for a vacancy on the Research Division. Dr. Trudy Huskamp Peterson has been named by the President to be Acting Archivist of the United States, a position which would place her in a conflict of interest situation as the AHA is currently receiving a grant from one of the organizations under the Archivist’s supervision. Dr. Peterson has accordingly withdrawn from the election.

The AHA’s Nominating Committee has selected Patricia King, The Schlesinger Library, Radcliffe College (American women’s history) to be paired with Werner Gundersheimer, The Folger Shakespeare Library (early modern Europe) for Research Division member.
