The one-hundredth annual meeting will be held at the Marriott Marquis in New York at 46th Street and Broadway. The hotel is large enough to accommodate all the sessions under one roof, but a nearby hotel, the Milford Plaza, will be used for overflow accommodations. The reservation form is contained in this issue of Perspectives and it should be returned directly to the hotel of your choice. The preregistration form will be found in the printed program that will be mailed to the membership in mid October.
The meeting will open the evening of December 27 with four sessions and conclude on the afternoon of the 30th.
Business Meeting: Resolutions for the business meeting signed by twenty-five members of the Association will be accepted until December 15; resolutions received by November 1 will take precedence and will be published in the December Perspectives. Resolutions must be no more than 300 words in length. Resolutions should be sent to the executive director at the AHA office, with copy to the parliamentarian, Paul H. Conkin, Department of History, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN 37235.
At its meeting on May 15-16, 1980, the Council adopted the following bylaw pursuant to Article VII, Sections 1-4, of the Constitution: There shall be a quorum for the annual business meeting of one hundred members in good standing.
Discount Air Fares: Details of special discount air fares for persons attending the AHA meeting in New York will be published in the October Perspectives.
Travel Grants for Foreign Graduate Students: The United States Information Agency has again awarded the AHA a grant to assist foreign graduate students in attending the annual meeting; individual grants may not exceed $250. Further information may be obtained from the office of the executive director.
Group Meetings and Reunions: Societies and groups that have not yet made arrangements to hold sessions or other meetings should send their requests for room space as soon as possible to Marjorie Lightman, chair of the local arrangements committee.
