Women and Politics in Southeast Asia is a long teaching module that examines women’s attempts to negotiate political spaces in the realms of official and unofficial power in Southeast Asia. This site’s primary sources and accompanying teaching strategies situate this issue within the context of 20th century nationalist and decolonization efforts. This module includes an informational essay, lessons plans and activities, discussion questions, guidance on engaging with the sources, and an essay prompt relating to ten primary sources.
