Nicholas Kryczka is a research coordinator for the AHA's Mapping the Landscape of Secondary History Education project. He has taught at Lake Forest College and at the University of Chicago, where he earned his PhD in history in 2019 and worked as a postdoctoral teaching fellow in the social sciences. He has a BA in political science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and an MA in history from Northeastern Illinois University. Before doctoral studies, Nick taught high school social studies for a decade in the Chicago Public Schools, and has developed K-12 history curriculum for the Newberry Library and the Chicago Collections Consortium. A historian of urban space, racial ideology, and education policy, Nick's work has been published in History of Education Quarterly, the Journal of the Illinois State Historical Society, and will appear in forthcoming edited volumes from the University of Illinois Press and Oxford University Press.
