Hope Shannon

Hope Shannon is a researcher for the AHA’s Career Diversity for Historians initiative. She earned a BA in history and archaeology from Boston University, a MA in history from Simmons College, and a PhD in U.S. history and public history from Loyola University Chicago, where she studied the connections between heritage politics, diversity, and urban change in the postwar U.S. Hope has worked in public history settings for more than ten years, and is a former executive director of the South End Historical Society in Boston. She is also the current Executive Director of the Urban History Association.
