Marketing and Public Relations Manager

Jane Fiegen Green manages the marketing, media relations, and fundraising efforts of the AHA, working closely with the membership department and annual meeting staff. Jane received her Ph.D. in American history from Washington University in St. Louis in 2014. Her dissertation follows the experiences of young men and women to show how the language of maturity laid a foundation for the mythology of democratic capitalism in nineteenth-century New England. Jane developed her interest in maturity as a historical construction researching the Dartmouth College controversy of the 1810s. Her article on this subject appeared in History of Education Quarterly. An essay on young workers' critique of industrial labor, drawn from her dissertation, was included in an edited volume on age and citizenship. A born-and-raised Midwesterner, Jane began her study of history at Drake University. Prior to joining the AHA, Jane worked in the marketing department for National Business Institute, a leading provider of continuing legal education programs.
