Thomas Reins received his Ph.D. in History at Claremont Graduate School in 1981, specializing in modern East Asia, particularly the drug trade in twentieth-century China. He has published articles and reviews in Modern Asian Studies, China Review International, the Journal of Asian Studies, and other publications. He currently teaches at Fullerton College and has been an adjunct lecturer at California State University, Fullerton since 1972. He has also taught at the University of California, Riverside; California State University, Los Angeles; and Chapman University.
