Slavery in the President’s Neighborhood explores the complicated past and the paradoxical relationship between slavery and freedom in the US capital. The sites uses a dynamic historical timeline, enhanced by research articles and engaging images, to explore the stories of enslaved and free persons of color who labored in and around the White House. This resource can be used for upper-level high school, undergraduate, and graduate student instruction.
