Freedom on the Move
A Database of Fugitives from American Slavery
Freedom on the Move is created collaboratively for scholars, students, and citizen historians. It is a database of people liberating themselves from North American slavery and the newspaper advertisements in which they appeared. It serves as a research aid, pedagogical tool, and a resource for genealogists. The site includes educator resources and offers opportunities to contribute to the database.
