Edward Curtis's The North American Indian

Edward Sheriff Curtis published The North American Indian between 1907 and 1930. This primary source comprises twenty volumes of narrative text and photographic images. Each volume is accompanied by a portfolio of large photographic plates. Indigenous peoples represented include the Hopi, Cheyenne, Nootka, Comanche, and Assiniboin, among others. The 20 portfolios of largely sepia photos are extensive.
