1995 Annual Meeting—Chicago

AHA Staff | Oct 1, 1994

Accommodations and Transportation

The 109th AHA annual meeting will be held in Chicago, Illinois, and headquartered at the Chicago Hilton and Towers. Rooms have been reserved at the Chicago Hilton and Palmer House Hilton. Shuttle buses will operate between the two hotels. Schedule information will be in the December issue of Perspectives.

Please see the September issue of Perspectives for detailed hotel information and the housing form. Additional forms are also available by contacting the Convention Director, AHA, 400 A Street, SE, Washington, DC 20003. Forms may be mailed or faxed to hotels. AHA annual meeting rates are available January 2 through 9.

Members may also make reservations by telephoning hotels: Chicago Hilton, (312) 922-4400 and Palmer House Hilton, (312) 726-7500. Prior to calling, please have the following information available: arrival/departure dates, number of rooms required, type of room (single, double, etc.), number of people in party, credit card number and expiration date, and names, addresses, and phone numbers of occupants of room. You should also note accessibility requirements (movement-impaired, TDD needs, etc.) and if you prefer a nonsmoking room. Rooms are subject to 14.9 percent city and state sales taxes.

Requests for rooms will be filled in the order received by hotels, so it is recommended that you contact your hotel of choice early to obtain preferred accommodations. Both hotels require a first night's deposit to hold your reservation; reservations will not be processed without the deposit. If the deposit is billed to a credit card, it will be billed immediately. If the deposit is paid by check, make check payable to the hotel selected. You will receive a confirmation directly from the hotel; it will provide change/cancellation information. A charge will be assessed for the first night if reservations are not cancelled forty-eight hours prior to arrival.

The cutoff date for the AHA's housing block is December 5. After that date, the hotels will continue to process reservations and changes subject to hotel availability.

The printed Program will reach the membership later this month; the preregistration form is included in the mailing, and is also on page 8 of this issue. Additional copies of the preregistration form are available through AHA headquarters by contacting the Convention Director, AHA, 400 A Street, SE, Washington, DC 20003.
