Grant of the Week: Essay Contest – Association for the Study of African American Life and History

The Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) proudly announces its 19th annual essay contest for undergraduate and graduate students. Essays may be submitted on any topic that explores the lives, history, or cultures of African descended people in North America, South America, the Caribbean, or throughout the African Diaspora. Each winner will be awarded $500 and have the opportunity to present their essay at the 94th annual ASALH convention in Cincinnati, Ohio, September 30-October 4, 2009. The deadline for submissions is June 1, 2009. See the ASALH essay contest page for more information.
