September 1—Housing opens.

September 20—Job Register forms sent to history departments.

September 30—Dues must be paid and address changes registered with the Membership Department in order to receive a copy of the annual meeting Program.

October 1—Processing of preregistration begins.

October 10—Program mailed to members.

November 15—Deadline for reserving tables and suites for the Job Register.

December 6—Job Register confirmations sent out.

December 4—AHA preregistration closes; after this date, attendees must register on-site.

December 14—Housing cutoff date. (But note that for the Omni Shoreham and Days Inn hotels, the cutoff date is December 4.) After this date, reservations taken on a space-available basis; availability of convention rates will vary from hotel to hotel.

December 18—Deadline to receive preregistration refund.

January 7—1999 annual meeting opens at noon at Marriott Wardman Park Hotel and Omni Shoreham Hotel, Washington, D.C.
