The 16th annual meeting was held on December 27–29 at Russell House in Detroit and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. AHA President Edward Eggleston was prevented by severe illness from delivering the annual presidential address at the meeting at Detroit. However, the address which he intended to read, “The New History,” was printed in the American Historical Review.
