The United States Commission on Military History

invites proposals for the

XLIII Congress of the International Commission of Military History Douala, Cameroon, September 2 ~ 8, 2017

** GRADUATE STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO SUBMIT PAPER PROPOSALS!**

 

The USCMH invites U.S. historians to submit paper proposals for the 2017 Congress of the ICMH to be held in Douala, Cameroon, 2 - 8 September. The theme of the congress will be “World Wars and Colonies in History.” Presentations are welcome to explore a variety of subthemes such as:

•Great military figures in colonies

•War efforts in colonies

•Women and the World Wars in colonies

Papers will be selected and submitted by the U.S. Commission. Please, send a two page proposal, a CV, and a short bio statement (300 words) by email no later than 22 February 2017 to the USCMH at Bianka.j.adams@usace.army.mil.

 

To encourage participation of emerging scholars, the USCMH offers a travel subvention of $1,500 and students will pay substantially lower registration and lodging expenses. Please, send a one page description of the project, a draft copy of the paper, a CV, and a short bio statement (300 words) by email no later than 22 February 2017 to the USCMH at Bianka.j.adams@usace.army.mil.
