Crisis and Change across the Anthropocene: Environments, Conflicts, and Inequalities

The Northeastern University History Graduate Student Association invites proposal submissions for its 14th annual conference to be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022.  The format is anticipated to be hybrid, though we will offer fully online panels also to facilitate presenters unable to travel to our Boston campus.  All panels will be broadcast over Zoom.

Submissions

The deadline for initial submissions is February 14.  These should take the form of a 200-word abstract and a CV uploaded through this form.

In line with the title "Crisis and Change across the Anthropocene," we invite graduate students to submit papers dealing with the environment, conflict, or inequality - broadly defined - in global context or through the lens of public history.  We encourage papers on various subjects and themes in world history and public history that engage with these issues at any scale.  A direct connection to environmental history or the modern world is not essential for submission.

The 2022 conference will have to paper prize competitions, see the submission form for more details.  Acceptance letters will be released starting February 21.  Full papers are due by March 14.  Papers should not exceed 25 double-spaced pages in length.
