ARCE invites applications to conduct independent humanities research during the 2019-2020 academic year in Egypt. Doctoral, postdoctoral, early career and senior humanities scholars are eligible to apply. Most awards require American citizenship. Researchers make use of national libraries and archives, private collections, museums, archaeological and cultural heritage sites. Fellowships are available from 3-12 months and are funded by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
