California Rare Book School is a continuing education program dedicated to providing the requisite knowledge and skills for professionals working in all aspects of the rare book community, and for students interested in entering the field. CalRBS offers week-long courses covering a broad range of topics. Students at CalRBS benefit from an expert faculty and the wealth of special collections of rare books, manuscripts and archival materials in the Los Angeles area.

Two new courses are being offered this year: “Texts, Maps, and Networks: Introduction to Digital Humanities” and “English Paleography” demonstrating that CalRBS remains committed to providing “bookish” education at both the cutting edge and the long tail of scholarship.

Courses run from July 30-August 3 and August 6-10 at UCLA and August 13-17 in the San Francisco Bay Area.
