The Institute on World War II and the Human Experience, Department of History at Florida State University will host the Annual Spring Lecture by Ronit Stahl on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 5:30 p.m in the FSU Alumni Center-Rendina Room.   Professor Stahl’s lecture “Four Chaplains Day: Religious Pluralism and the U.S. Military, Then and Now” will explore how the Four Chaplains came to symbolize a particular form of mid-century religious pluralism and how that legacy has evolved in the military and American society at large

Dr. Stahl holds a doctorate in history from the University of Michigan and is currently a fellow in the Department of Medical Ethics at the University of Pennsylvania.  As a public intellectual, Dr. Stahl has contributed to the Washington Post, Huffington Post, and Religion & Politics.

A reception will follow Dr. Stahl’s lecture and copies of her recent book, Enlisting Faith: How the Military Chaplaincy Shaped Religion and State in Modern America (Harvard University Press) will be available for purchase.  This event is free and open to the community.
