Mount Clare Museum House, Baltimore’s oldest colonial house, was home to Charles Carroll, Barrister and numerous slaves and indentured servants. During the month of October, Mount Clare is decorated depicting an eighteenth-century mourning scene. Tours will touch on mourning rituals and beliefs in early America, allowing visitors to see how death and mourning from the past differs from modern day. These tours officially begin on Saturday, October 7 and conclude Sunday, October 29.

During the month of October, Mount Clare Museum House offers tours appropriate for the whole family on death and mourning in early America. See a recreated funeral scene for a wealthy American, burial preparations for an enslaved person, and mourning jewelry.

Mount Clare Museum House is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11:00 AM until 4:00 PM with house tours on the hour. There is plenty of free parking at the mansion in Carroll Park.
