The Virginia Dale Community Club will be holding two fund raisers to raise funds to go for the preservation and restoration of the historical Virginia Dale Stage Station built in 1862 and the 1909 Hurseler house which gives a glimpse into early rural life.  On Friday, June 9, 2017, a Western Dance & Pie Auction will be held at the Virginia Dale Stage Station from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The band "Barely Gettin' By" will play live music.  Admission is $10/person and children under 12 are free.  On Saturday, June 10, 2017, the Club will have their 22nd annual Open House from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Admission is free, but a donation of work gloves or canned foods for Harvest Farm in Wellington would be greatly appreciated.  Abraham Lincoln, portrayed by Bruce Spear, will speak at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.  There will be displays of inventions from the 1800's, many booths with local artisans, western games, and other activities.  Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Cash or checks will be accepted.  The Virginia Dale Stage Station is located 4 miles south of the Wyoming border just off US HWY 287.  Turn east onto County Road 43 F.  Go left at the Y in the road and continue one mile down the road.
