The American Center of Oriental Research in Amman offers a variety of fellowships at undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate levels to support research on topics in the humanities, natural, and social sciences in Jordan. Specific requirements, eligibility, and award amount vary by fellowship. Fields of research include, for example, modern and classical languages, linguistics, literature, history, jurisprudence, philosophy, archaeology, comparative religion, ethics, and the history, criticism, and theory of the arts. Social and political scientists are encouraged to apply. Research topics should contribute to scholarship in Near Eastern studies. Fellowships are funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), the Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC), and special endowments.
