American Institute for Sri Lankan Studies (AISLS) Fellowship Program

AISLS announces the continuation of its fellowship program for research in Sri Lanka.  Proposals in all fields of the social sciences and humanities are eligible.  Applicants must be US citizens.  Tenure is between two and nine months, though awards of over six months will only be made in exceptional circumstances.  Fellows may divide up their fellowship tenure over two or more visits, but AISLS will only pay for one round trip air ticket between the US and Sri Lanka.  No previous experience in Sri Lanka is required.  In the past, about one half of awards have been made to researchers without substantive previous research in Sri Lanka.  Application deadline is December 1, 2016.  For more details and application instructions, go to www.aisls.org
