Shortest Route from the Hilton to the Sheraton

Exit the Hilton via the parking garage exit at the back of the lobby and turn left to 53rd Street. Cross at the mid-block crosswalk; the 53rd Street entrance to the Sheraton will be a short walk to your right.

Airports

JFK International Airport

Subway: Take the airport AirTrain to the Howard Beach station, then take the A train to the 50th Street station. Alternatively, take the AirTrain to the Jamaica station and board the E train, then exit at the 5th Ave/53rd Street station.

Taxis to Manhattan have a flat rate of $70, with an additional $5 during peak hours (weekdays, 4–8 p.m.). See the airport’s To & From JFK page for more details on taxis, cars, and vans.

LaGuardia Airport

Subway: The airport is not directly connected to subway lines but can be reached via the Q70 (Lines 7, E, F, M, and R) and M60 (Lines A, B, C, D, N, Q, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6) bus routes. Next to arrive can be searched here.

Taxis can be hailed from all terminal buildings with uniformed staff available to assist you (small surcharges apply at different hours). See more information on car, van, and shuttle services here on the airport site.

Newark Liberty International Airport

Subway: Take the airport’s AirTrain ($8) to the Newark Liberty Airport Station where you can take a train to New York’s Penn Station.

Taxis can be hailed from the Port Authority Welcome Centers in each terminal. Various surcharges apply during different hours but base fare to Midtown Manhattan will be $70. Other car and van services are described in further detail here.

Transportation

Depending on where you are headed in New York, there are plenty of subway stations near the meeting hotels (a subway line map is available for viewing and download). The A, C, and E trains can be accessed at either the 50th Street station or the 59th St.–Columbus Circle Station. N, R, and W trains can be taken from the 49th Street Station, or at the 57th Street Station along with Q trains. The 1 train can be picked up at the 50th St. Broadway station.

Fare for most riders on subways and local, limited, and Select Bus Service buses is $2.90. Fares can be paid with a MetroCard, a contactless/tap-to-pay credit or debit card, or a mobile device.

New York has a bike share system, CitiBike, with a base rate of $4.79/ride for 30 minutes.

Taxi Service

Important note: Every airport warns travelers not to accept solicitations from unlicensed cabs. All NYC taxis are labeled and can be picked up at airports with the help of uniformed attendants. Cabs with an illuminated number can be hailed in the city and the boroughs. Taxis accept cash and credit, debit and prepaid cards.

  • New York Hilton Midtown—$95; oversized $110 per day—valet parking only; get in touch with the hotel about ADA accommodations
  • Sheraton New York—$85.00 per day—valet only; get in touch with the hotel about ADA accommodations
  • Parking is also available at many stations used by Metro North, NJ Transit, PATH, and the Long Island Rail Road, offering quick access to midtown. Many Hudson River ferry terminals operated by NY Waterway also offer paid parking.
