Meetups at the Annual Meeting

Reserving a Community Space

Interested in holding an informal conversation with colleagues during the upcoming annual meeting? The AHA has set aside space for small group conversations about historical and professional issues. AHA members who have registered for the meeting can sign up here to reserve a space. Community space meetups organized by December 15 will be listed in the online program and the meeting app. Have an idea during the meeting? Stop by the AHA booth during Exhibit Hall hours to arrange a space. Organizers are encouraged to reach out to potential participants through social media.

The community space will also be available as a place to sit, check email, and chat with colleagues. Check the schedule by the door to see whether anything else is scheduled in the room.

Meet Your Collaborators

Collaborating with a group of people that would like to meet face to face? The AHA can provide members registered for the meeting with a room for small group meetings during the conference—for example for board meetings, focus groups, or collaborative projects. Fill out this form to request a space. These rooms may not be used for job interviews.

Continuing Conversations

Sunday, January 8 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, Grand Ballroom Salon E

For the first time, we will hold a closing session where attendees will come together for small group conversations about our time learning together at the annual meeting. Meet with others in your field to discuss new ideas you learned about, old ideas you gained a new perspective on, ideas that excited you, and more. What conversations would you like to continue, throughout the year and at the annual meeting next year in San Francisco?
Have an idea for a topic you would like to discuss at the session, or a group of colleagues you would like to gather for a conversation? Stop by the AHA booth during Exhibit Hall hours or fill out this form to propose a table topic. Otherwise, plan to drop by and join the conversation.
