Airports
Subway: Take the airport AirTrain to the Howard Beach station, then take the A train to the 50th Street station. Alternatively, take the AirTrain to the Jamaica station and board the E train, then exit at the 5th Ave/53rd Street station.
Taxis to Manhattan have a flat rate of $52, with an additional $4.50 during peak hours (weekdays, 4–8 p.m.). See the airport’s To & From JFK page for more details on taxis, cars, and vans.
Subway: The airport is not directly connected to subway lines but can be reached via the Q70 (Lines 7, E, F, M, and R) and M60 (Lines A, B, C, D, N, Q, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6) bus routes. Next bus to arrive can be found here.
Taxis can be hailed from all terminal buildings with uniformed staff available to assist you (small surcharges apply at different hours.) See more information on car, van, and shuttle services here on the airport site.
Newark Liberty International Airport
Subway: Take the airport’s AirTrain ($7.75) to the Newark Liberty Airport Station where you can take a train ($13 for adults, $9 for children) to New York’s Penn Station.
Taxis can be hailed from the Port Authority Welcome Centers in each terminal. Various surcharges apply during different hours but base fare to Midtown Manhattan will be $55. Other car and van services are described in further detail here.
Public Transit
Depending on where you are head in New York, there are plenty of subway stations near the meeting hotels (a subway line map is available for viewing and download). The A, C, and E trains can accessed at either the 50th Street station or the 59th St.–Columbus Circle Station. N, R, and W trains can be taken from the 49th Street Station, or at the 57th Street Station along with Q trains. The 1 train can be picked up at the 50th St. Broadway station.
Taxi Service
Important note: Every airport warns travelers not to accept solicitations from unlicensed cabs. All NYC taxis are labeled and can be picked up at airports with the help of uniformed attendants. Cabs with an illuminated number can be hailed in the city and the boroughs. Taxis accept cash and credit, debit and prepaid cards.
Car Rental
Car rental agencies are located at all three airports, with service varying at each. For information on booking, follow the links for airport information above.
Parking
Guest parking is available at both hotels. The New York Hilton Midtown has valet parking for $70 ($75 for SUVs). Overnight guests at the Sheraton New York may park in the onsite self-parking garage for $65.
