Statement of Purpose: The Center for New Deal Studies at Roosevelt University is dedicated to the preservation and understanding of the New Deal and work of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt. In keeping with the university’s commitment to fostering social justice and civic engagement, the Center seeks to support activities that encourage democratic ideals and community activism. It also features resources that deepen our understanding of the lives of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, and the social, economic, political and cultural history of the New Deal. Through academic and community partnerships, the Center links local history and activities to larger national and international concerns.
