Undergraduate Poster Session

The undergraduate poster proposal submissions portal for the 2024 annual meeting is now closed. Lightning round proposals will be accepted through November 15.

The Undergraduate Poster Session has become a mainstay at the AHA's annual meeting as an opportunity for undergraduates to share their research with peers and established scholars. Poster presentations offer a great opportunity for history students to learn how to present evidence and narrative in a concise visual format. Posters encourage one-on-one conversation between presenters and their audience and are an excellent opportunity to start building a professional network. Most importantly, they're an opportunity to have fun and participate in the largest annual gathering of historians in the United States.

The online proposal system for submitting posters is now closed. Lightning round proposals will be accepted through November 15. Please check back in the late summer or early fall of 2024 for information about submitting a poster for the 2025 annual meeting in New York. Posters may be submitted by an individual or a group. See the poster resources on our website for details about presenting a poster at the annual meeting. Please note, an undergraduate student may participate in both the poster session and lightning round provided that the research submitted to each session is unique.

Everyone participating in the annual meeting is required to register. Registration opens in mid-September. Presenters at the undergraduate poster session are not required to be AHA members. AHA members may pre-register any undergraduate student for only $15.
