Undergraduate Poster Session Call for Papers

The American Historical Association (AHA) invites undergraduate students to submit proposals for the first undergraduate poster session, to be held at the 132nd annual meeting in Washington, DC. Poster presentations are a great opportunity for history students to learn how to present evidence and narrative in a concise, visual format. The session will allow undergraduates to share their work with peers and established scholars. Posters encourage one-on-one conversation between presenters and their audience and are an excellent opportunity to start building a professional network. Most importantly, they present an opportunity to have fun and participate in the largest annual gathering of historians in the United States. The poster session will take place on Saturday, January 6, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Posters should be submitted by Monday, October 16 using the online proposal system. Decisions will be announced in early November. Posters may be submitted by an individual or a group. See the poster resources on our website for details about presenting a poster at the annual meeting.

Everyone participating in the annual meeting is required to register. Registration opens in mid-September. AHA members can bring as many undergraduate students as they want for the member preregistration rate plus $10 per student ($20 per student onsite). Presenters at the undergraduate poster session are not required to be AHA members.
