„h What advice did George Washington give his fellow Americans about the role of the federal government in American life? „h What advice did he give them about politics? About foreign relations?

George Washington made a very famed farewell address for his retirement from the presidency. He was one of the few presidents in history that was well liked and admired by the majority of the people. George Washington gave to his fellow Americans that the government is for the people. He mentions the constitution as the people¡¦s constitution. Washington left a very important impression on American ideology even after he retired from the presidency. George Washington tried to stay above the main two feuding parties within the America which were the Federalists and Republicans. Ultimately George Washington was more for the Federalists siding with Hamilton and his motives. Washington gave many ideas on the way that the country should be headed after his retirement. He suggested that America never make any permanent alliances with other nations because they might not carry the same interests and ideology as the American people do. With that ideology America, for many years later, stayed an isolationist¡¦s America. George Washington¡¦s farewell address was actually written in most part by his Secretary of Treasury, Alexander Hamilton. Hamilton was a Federalist, he believed in molding the future of America from England as the model. He believed that America should have closer ties with England which whom he thought of as the mother country. George Washington left the presidency very weak and old but he also left proud and with dignity.
