Listing in the Directory of History Departments, Historical Organizations, and Historians, 2009–10

The Directory is entering the 21st century!

The 35th edition of the Directory of History Departments, Historical Organizations, and Historians, which covers the academic year 2009–10, will be published in both a print and an online version. The print version will be published in September 2009. The online edition, to be available in the fall, will be accessible throughout the year in a searchable format.

Institutions that have previously listed in the Directory can make changes to their entry online. Go to http://www.historians.org/members/dosp/ and enter your User Name and Password. If you are interested in listing your department or organization in the Directory for the first time, please download and submit the appropriate forms found below under "New Institutions."

The initial deadline is May 1, 2009. Information updated before August 1, 2009, will be included in the print edition, but changes can be made online throughout the year. Once the online version is complete, users will be able to access up-to-date details on all institutions.

There is a small fee for listing in the Directory, which helps to underwrite our production costs. Our current plan is to provide each listed institution with one copy of the Directory after it is printed in the fall along with one full year of access to the online Directory, which can be used by anyone in your department or organization.
