CLGH Has New Chair

AHA Staff | May 1, 2006

Karen Krahulik, associate dean of the College at Brown University, succeeded Leisa Meyers as the chair of the Committee on Lesbian and Gay History earlier this year. Krahulik is the author of Provincetown: From Pilgrim Landing to Gay Resort (New York University Press, 2005). Before joining Brown University, Krahulik was at Duke University, where she taught women's studies and was the director of the Center for LGBT Life.

The CLGH was founded in 1979 to "promote the study of homosexuality in the past and present by facilitating communication among scholars in a variety of disciplines working on a variety of cultures." It publishes a newsletter, produces a directory of members, awards four scholarly prizes, and maintains an email announcements list and a web page at www.usc.edu/isd/archives/clgh.
