Letters to the Editor

JFK and the AHA

Alfred Elkins | Jan 1, 1998

To the Editor:

Congratulations! Your new format is a great improvement. I especially liked "Timelines." The articles in it about Wilson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Kennedy were most informative and interesting.

Roosevelt was right that history is a literary exercise. Cold fact without the warm literary glow of history is incomplete. My double major in college of history and English has proven useful.

In "JFK and the AHA" Tom Noer points out that President Kennedy was a lifetime member. Unfortunately, JFK did not live long enough to enjoy the fruits of his membership.
